MONITORING SOFTWOOD LUMBER EXPORTS TO THE UNITED STATES
"The Government of Canada will monitor the shipments of softwood lumber to the United States from all provinces and territories of Canada beginning April 1, 2001. The monitoring program will be administered through the issuance of export permits by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The object of this monitoring program is to collect data respecting softwood lumber exports to the U.S. for all Canadian provinces and territories. The Maritime Lumber Bureau will continue to operate its Certificate of Origin program for lumber produced in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland in addition to the Export and Import Controls Bureau (EICB) monitoring program."

REQUEST FOR TARIFF RELIEF BY BALLIN INC. REGARDING CERTAIN RAYON-POLYESTER FABRICS
"On December 21, 2000, pursuant to the Minister’s reference, the Tribunal received a revised request from Ballin Inc. (Ballin), of Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec, for the removal, for an indeterminate period of time, of the customs duty on importations from all countries of certain rayon-polyester fabrics for use in the manufacture of shorts and trousers. Ballin also sought immediate tariff relief."

NOTICE OF COMMENCEMENT OF INQUIRY: CERTAIN CORROSION-RESISTANT STEEL SHEET
"Notice was received by the Secretary of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on March 5, 2001, from the Acting Director General of the Anti-dumping and Countervailing Directorate at the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, stating that a preliminary determination had been made respecting the dumping of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China, India, Malaysia, the Russian Federation, South Africa and Chinese Taipei, and the subsidizing of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from India."

CERTAIN GRAIN CORN ORIGINATING IN OR EXPORTED FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND IMPORTED INTO CANADA FOR USE OR CONSUMPTION WEST OF THE MANITOBA–ONTARIO BORDER
"The Canadian International Trade Tribunal, under the provisions of section 42 of the Special Import Measures Act, has conducted an inquiry to determine whether the dumping and subsidizing of grain corn in all forms, excluding white dent corn imported by snack food and tortilla manufacturers for use by them in the manufacture of snack food and tortillas, seed corn (used for reproductive purposes), sweet corn and popping corn, originating in or exported from the United States of America, and imported into Canada for use or consumption west of the Manitoba-Ontario border, have caused injury or retardation, or are threatening to cause injury to domestic producers of like goods in that region."
