A POWERFUL WEB-BASED E-MANIFEST SOLUTION e-Manifest Gateway™ allows carriers, brokers, or freight forwarders to comply with new regulations stemming from the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) program. Capabilities include:
Highway carriers must comply with electronic truck manifest rules. Companies importing into the U.S. by highway, their customs brokers, freight forwarders and truck carriers must inform U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) about the details of their shipments in an electronic format prior to the arrival of the goods at border crossings. All parties involved in cross-border trade must abide by advance notification rules as set out by Electronic Truck Manifest rules (ACE e-Manifest), including QP/WP which governs the movement of in-bond cargoes. However, it is the freight forwarder and trucker who are responsible for ensuring that accurate electronic manifest submissions are made to CBP in the prescribed time periods and formats. The driver of a vehicle found not to be in compliance with U.S. advance notification rules will be subject to a $5,000 fine for the first violation and a $10,000 penalty for each subsequent violation. It is essential, therefore, for freight forwarding and trucking companies to have a solid and reliable solution to meet these advance highway e-manifest requirements.
